WHAT IS BOCCIA?

Boccia is a precision ball sport, similar to bocce and related to bowls and pétanque, but with its own rules. It's played indoors, recreationally and competitively, at local, national and international level by athletes with disabilities.

The sport is deceptively simple. It is easy to learn but hard to master - requires skill and strategic thinking. Boccia is played socially and competitively in over fifty countries world-wide. It is unique in that it is only one of two Paralympic sports (along with goalball) that has no Olympic counterpart. Boccia can be played by individuals, pairs, or teams of three per side. All genders play together based on their classification, determined by their physical ability.

If you want to play boccia check this website to locate your closest club. Clubs usually cater for a range of players, both adults and children, whom play recreationally and/or competitively. Just come along and give it a go!
